Meet Tammy Lang

Sharing her journey of hope and healing from childhood abuse is Tammy’s life purpose. Women Overcoming Wounds, LLC, is the outreach support that Tammy created as Tammy Lang Meet Tammy Langthe result of her book, websites and many campaigns with which Tammy is actively involved.

Tammy Lang is one of life’s survivors.

For most of her life, Tammy felt she did not have a voice. She found her voice through writing about her life-journey and experiences of overcoming childhood and adult abuse and neglect. She grew up in a toxic environment, with no one to show her kindness or real, unconditional love. “Love” was conditional, unhealthy, and always came at a cost. In Tammy, it showed through a devastating loss of self-confidence and volition, self-sabotage and self-hatred. By the age of nineteen, she was suicidal. As she set out to commit the act, a total stranger stopped on the side of the road to help. He offered genuine, unconditional kindness. That one, simple act changed Tammy’s life forever…

Today the “ripple effect” of that act resonates still in Tammy’s heart. She shares that story in her book, “Damaged Goods: Things You Must Know About Healing From Abuse.” The ripple effect is also in evidence in her daily life and on her websites: The Ripple Effect Legacy and tammymlang.com. On these sites, she highlights individuals or groups that perform “ripples” as a way of spreading global change and provides valuable resources for victims to start the healing journey. Tammy is featured in Proverbs 31 Ministries magazine and her story is included in the book, “Every Child is Entitled to Innocence: Anthology of Happy and Sad Stories from Childhood” by Orangeberry Publishing Group.

Although Tammy’s healing process has taken over twenty years of research, loss, and heartache, she finally managed to overcome her past and believes that, if she can do it, so can others. Her journey to wholeness began as she learned to love herself. Many victims of childhood abuse struggle with this foremost, usually overlooked step because, as Tammy knows: “They feel unworthy of love or feel they have to earn it.”

The greatest lesson Tammy could ever teach another is that if you do not love and accept yourself, you cannot give love to others. Tammy voices how, “Everyone deserves love. Everyone deserves to be heard. Everyone deserves to heal. No matter what our beginnings are, we all have choices to change at any moment and start anew.”
