One of the problems that many people have and that affects their ability to have a lasting relationship - is their inability to love themselves.

I know that you're likely shaking your head or rolling your eyes, but it is true. I'm not talking about being conceited, thinking you are above or better than others or a haughty attitude. This is a healthy, nurturing and accepting love for yourself -- including your flaws and mistakes. You probably love close friends and family even when they make mistakes - but what about yourself? What are some signs that you don't love yourself enough?

  • Do you give yourself a hard time when you do something wrong?
  • Are you quick to take the blame, even when you didn't do anything wrong?
  • Do you feel like you need to make excuses for the way you think and feel?
  • Do you work hard to cover your body and cringe when you look in the mirror?
  • No matter how hard you work at a project, are you never satisfied with your accomplishments?
